Why are fire sprinkler systems such an important contributor to safety? |

The main reason why sprinkler systems are so important is the simple fact that they are activated automatically and do not rely on any human factors. Regardless of whether a building or residence’s occupants are awake or asleep, alert or daydreaming, a fire sprinkler system will activate immediately. Many times a sprinkler system will extinguish a fire.
Even if this is not the case, they will certainly suppress a fire giving anyone inside precious time to extricate themselves safely. In addition, the fact that sprinkler systems will activate when the fire is still small, means that they will limit fire and smoke damage sustained by the structure.
Since sprinkler systems activate individually, the structure sustains a limited amount of water damage. Without a sprinkler system, one would be lucky to have the fire department arrive in time to extinguish the fire. If they do arrive in time to extinguish the fire, they will generally inundate the structure with water leaving an incredible amount of damage in their wake. Fire sprinkler systems provide property owners with myriad advantages and should be mandatory in all residential and commercial structures.
